With his fluffyness and chillness factor, the koala wins everyone's heart. In January and February 2020, the world watched helplessly as forest fires raged through Australia. In 20 years, almost half of all lions have disappeared in Africa, due to habitat loss, human-animal conflicts and a decreasing number of prey. Only 20,000 of these social felines now live in Africa and Asia, and although they are not yet threatened with extinction, the IUCN has had to give them "vulnerable" status. In partnership with the non-profit African Parcs, WWF is securing lion populations. The approach is strongly focused on poverty alleviation and economic development of the local population with the development of nature parks where the iconic lion is central.
